There are a number of Acts and Regulations that govern the generation, distribution and supply of electricity and gas in Tasmania.  Details of these can be found below.

Please note some of the Acts and Regulations listed below are not administered by the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources but are administered in whole or part by other Tasmanian Government departments.  The assignment of legislation to Ministers and Agencies is undertaken through the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990.  The current Administrative Arrangements Order may be viewed at The Law.
