Registration and Licensing
Racing Services Tasmania is responsible for the registration of standardbred (harness) race horses, racing greyhounds and greyhound industry participants. Racing Services Tasmania licenses harness and thoroughbred racing participants.
Active participation in any of the racing codes requires varying levels of licensing or registration for both person and animal in accordance with the appropriate Rules of the Code. Under the various Rules of Racing it is an offence for activities to be undertaken by unlicensed persons. Similarly no racing animal can be used in an activity governed by the Rules of Racing unless registered in accordance with those Rules.
The Licensing and Registrations department has personnel to provide specialised advice and guidance for all enquiries associated with licensing and/or registration.
